Producing quality cut comb honey is a bit of a lost skill in beekeeping and that is why comb honey is such a rare treat. In this class we will share some of the methods we use to produce cut comb honey with our bees, including:

Choosing colonies for comb production

Setting up frames and supers for cut comb production

Timing your nectar flow

Processing and Packaging your comb honey

As a bonus each participant will get to take home a fresh cut of comb honey.

August 3, 9 a.m. – Noon

Keeping varroa mite levels under control is one of the most important skills in keeping bees healthy and production these days. This workshop is hands on training in all things varroa. We will learn to:

o Check varroa mite levels in the colony

o Choosing a location to set up your hive

o Lighting a Smoker

o Using Beekeeping Tools

o Colony Inspection
